Communications (Chair: Kris Loomis)

Spread the word about DDE news and events through the PTA newsletter, email, website and bulletin boards.

Fundraising (Chair: Susan Uy) Raise funds for the PTA with events like the Dragonfly Dash, Bingo Night, and painless fundraisers such as Box Tops and Harris Teeter VIC Card Program.

Literacy (Chair: Michelle Young) Encourages reading in the school with a school-wide reading campaign in the winter. The group also has responsibility for the fall and spring book fairs and helps out with morning circulation in the library.

Cultural Arts (Chair: ______)Bring Arts into the school through assemblies and enrichment programs.

Building and Grounds (Chair: _________)Improve school building and grounds with indoor and outdoor projects.

Hospitality (Chair:________)Provides support to the staff with a welcome back breakfast in the fall, an end of the year luncheon and Teacher Appreciation Week events.

Special Events (Chair: Peggy Cheek) Handles several one-time events throughout the year like Fifth Grade Celebration, Yearbook, Picture Day and Agenda sales.
